JPJ new Demerit Points System (Kejara) will be enforced on 2017-04-15
1. Running Red Light = 4 points,
2. Speeding above speed limit:
1 - 25 km/h = 2 points,
20 - 40 km/h = 3 points
> 40 km/h = 4 points
A. 1st 20 points (Warning),
B. 2nd 20 points (1st Licence Suspension for 8 months),
C. 3rd 20 points (2nd Licence Suspension for 10 months),
D. 4th 20 points (3rd Licence Suspension for 12 months),
E. 5th 20 points (Driving Licence cancelled).
Note 1: Driving Licence will be also cancelled if drivers have 3 Licence Suspension in a period of 5 yrs.
Note 2: Drivers with their driving licence cancelled may retake & passed a Driving Licence Test to get a new Driving Licence after a 12-month cooling-off period.
