SK015 Chapter 1.2: Mole Concept

Concentration Measurements

Example 1:

Phosphoric acid is a weak acid with the chemical formula H3PO4. It is normally encountered as a colourless syrup of 85% concentration in water with the density of 1.88 g/mL at 25 °C. Calculate:

  1. (a)  the molarity of H3PO4.

  2. (b)  the molality of H3PO4.

  3. (c)  the mole fraction of H3PO4.
